Saturday: go bigger or go east

Saturday has the deepest schedule of the week: tribute acts in the concert rooms, original bands in the clubs, and — May through October — vineyard and brewery sets across the North Fork worth building a whole day around. Daytime winery music plus a night show in Patchogue or Huntington is a genuinely great Long Island Saturday.

Sunday: the secret best day

Sunday is the scene’s living room: afternoon jams, blues sessions, acoustic brunches, early-evening shows that end at a school-night hour. Crowds are friendlier, musicians sit in with each other, and you’ll hear the island’s best players relaxed and off the clock.
